Banana Pancakes

This easy and quite simple recipe makes the lightest and fluffiest pancakes. These homemade banana pancakes are made from scratch using mashed bananas, walnuts, and buttermilk what’s there not to like!

These fluffy banana pancakes paired with a pad of butter and maple syrup are guaranteed to bring the whole family together for breakfast. Not only are these pancakes easy to prepare they also don’t take a lot of time in the kitchen. With this recipe, you will make 12 pancakes.

How to make banana pancakes step by step:


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder 
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 bananas (mashed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 tbsp butter (melted )
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract


In a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients together (flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt). In another separate bowl combine the vanilla, melted butter, buttermilk, mashed banana, and eggs. After doing that combine the dry and wet ingredients together and mix them. (but be careful not to overmix the batter).

Then heat oil or butter in a skillet and once hot, add a few tablespoons of the batter, cook the pancakes until they get a beautiful golden brown color on each side, or approximately for a minute on one side, until fluffy, then flip, and cook for another minute.
