Banana cream pie is a true American classic, an old fashioned pie that everyone likes. Made with only ripe bananas and whipped cream, this recipe couldn’t get tastier.
With every bite, there’ll be an explosion of flavors in your mouth. A flaky pie crust filled with fresh bananas and whipped cream, what’s there not to like?
Instructions on making the best no-bake banana cream pie:
For the pie:
- 1 cup cold milk
- 2 medium ripe bananas
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz.)
- 1 graham cracker crust (9″)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
For the whipping cream:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 4 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Start by making the whipping cream mixture. To do that, in a medium-sized bowl, combine all of the whipping cream ingredients (the heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar).
Now using a mixer, whisk the ingredients at high speed. Whisk until whipping cream mixture has thickened, which should take about 5 minutes. Set the mixture aside.
Next, whisk vanilla, milk, and pudding mix in a large bowl. Mix until the mixture thickens, which should take about 2 minutes. Then using a spoon, gently add 3 cups of the whipping cream.
After that, inside of the pie crust, pour 1-1/3 cups of the pudding mixture. Next, add the banana slices on top of the pudding mixture. Now, add the remaining pudding mixture on top of the bananas. Finally, top with whipped cream and add additional banana slices if desired.
Place the banana cream pie in the refrigerator before eating. Enjoy!
