How To Make Easy Baked Pork Chops with Apples:

  • 4 pork chops (on the bone about 3/4 inch thick)
  • 10-12 fresh sage leaves  (substitute 2 tbsp of dried sage)
  • 2 apples (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup butter (1/2 a stick of butter)
  • 1/8 cup marsala
  • 1/8 cup fresh thyme leaves (or 2 tablespoons of dried thyme)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Start by preheating the oven to 450 °F. Next, over medium-high heat, heat up a large pan. Then gently coat the pork chops using the olive oil, followed by the salt, pepper, and sugar making sure it’s evenly dispersed.

Once the pan has heated up, add the pork chops. Then, sear the pork chops on one side for around 2 minutes. Next, add the sage leaves to the pan and then flip the chops over to cook the other side.

Now, add the butter into the pan and let it melt and brown a bit. Gradually add the marsala and chicken stock. Mix well, and then you can add the rosemary leaves.

After that, let the mixture come to a simmer, then add the apple slices.

Then, turn off the heat and move the skillet into the oven.

Bake the pork chops for approximately 12 to 15 minutes or until cooked to your liking.

Once the pork chops have finished cooking take them out of the oven.

Serve immediately with your favorite sauce ( honey garlic sauce recommended) and enjoy!
