This easy chicken alfredo recipe is made with deliciously pan-fried seasoned chicken breasts and tender noodles coated in the most creamy sauce ever.
How To Make The Tastiest Chicken Alfredo:
For the noodles:
- 16 oz. dry fettuccine pasta
For the chicken:
- 1 lb. boneless (skinless chicken breasts)
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 3/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
For the sauce:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup butter (cut into large cubes)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 3/4 tsp garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Start by making the noodles. In order to do that bring a large pot filled with salted water to a boil. Then add the fettuccine pasta and cook it according to the package directions which usually is 10 minutes.
Once about 10 minutes have passed, reserve half a cup of the boiled salted water and drain the rest of it.
Now, it’s time to prepare the chicken. So, start by seasoning it with Italian seasoning, kosher salt, and pepper.
After that, place a large non-stick skillet over medium high heat and add the extra-virgin olive oil. When the olive oil begins to simmer, swirl the pan to coat it evenly.
Then add the seasoned chicken and cook it for 5 to 7 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown. After that, flip the chicken over to the other side and add the butter. Again, swirl the pan so that the butter gets to every chicken piece. Cook the chicken for another 5 to 7 minutes.
Once the chicken has finished cooking, transfer it to a cooking board and let it rest for 3 minutes. Then cut the chicken into 1/2-inch thick slices. Using foil, cover the chicken so it stays warm while you prepare the sauce.
Finally, it’s time to prepare the last part of this meal – the sauce. So, start by adding the butter and cream to the same pan you used to cook the chicken. Place the pan over medium-low heat and whisk the ingredients until the butter has melted.
Next, add the garlic powder, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Again, whisk the mixture until smooth and all the ingredients have been combined.
Then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes while stirring constantly.
Once the mixture begins to thicken, stir in the cheese and cook until melted and smooth.
Finally, in order to assemble the whole dish, start by taking the sauce off the heat and instantly combine it with the cooked fettuccine noodles. Toss the pasta around so that it coats evenly.
Next, serve the pasta with some chicken on top and garnish it with some fresh parsley. If desired add some more parmesan cheese on top and/or black pepper.
