How To Make The Tastiest Prosciutto Asparagus Puff Pastry Bundles:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 12 to 16 oz.) ends trimmed
  • 12 slices prosciutto
  • 8 oz. Gruyere shredded
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • pepper

Instructions:

Start by preheating the oven to 425 °F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Next, on a lightly floured clean surface, roll the puff pastry out to a large rectangle, which should be about double the original size. Then square off the edges and cut the puff pastry into 6 identical squares.

Now, toss the asparagus in olive oil and sprinkle with some salt and pepper according to your taste.

After that, in order to assemble the bundles start by placing a slice of prosciutto on top of the square. Then fold the prosciutto in half so that it fits on the square. Next, add about 3-4 stalks of asparagus (depending on size) and 2 tbsp of cheese. 

Wrap the edges of the dough around the asparagus and press to seal forming a wrap(bundle). Then, using the egg wash, brush the top of the pastry and sprinkle some additional salt and pepper on top if desired.

Finally, place the prosciutto asparagus puff pastry bundles into the preheated oven. Bake them for approximately 13-15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the pastry has a perfect golden brown color.
