Guide On Making The Best Blueberry BBQ Sauce:
- 4 cups blueberries (frozen or fresh)
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 red thai chili peppers (minced)
- 1 shallot (peeled and minced)
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp whole grain dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp cilantro steams (minced)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
Start by heating the olive oil in a Dutch oven or a medium-low pot over medium heat. Then add the shallot, garlic, and chili peppers. Cook for about 5 minutes.
Next, add the blueberries, tomato paste, maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ketchup, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cilantro stems. Stir the mixture and reduce the heat to low.
Cover the pot and cook the mixture for approximately 1 hour or until you’ve reached your desired consistency. Also, make sure to stir the mixture every 20 minutes.
Now, using an immersion blender, blend the sauce (or you can also use a spoon). Make sure to not over-pure the mixture.
After that, allow the jam to cool, portion into a storage jar, cover, store in the refrigerator, and enjoy within a few days up to a week.
Finally, serve with your favorite meat or food and enjoy!
