This easy egg fried rice is something that you can cook every other week for days when you are not feeling that creative or aren’t in a mood to cook or just simply don’t have enough time on your hands. It’s a no-fuss meal, that you can easily modify with whatever vegetables you have on hand.

A quick recipe for takeaway-style egg fried rice with loads of flavor! Such a great dish to serve up as part of a better homemade version of Chinese takeaway! Basically this recipe is a combination of long grained rice, mixture of warm peas, carrots and onions all scrambled and mixed with eggs.

How To Make The Easiest Egg Fried Rice Recipe:


  • 1 1/2 cups frozen vegetables (carrot, peas, corn, etc.)
  • 4 cups cooked and chilled white rice
  • 3 large eggs (whisked lightly)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • Butter or olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Sliced green onions (for garnish)


Start by heating a wok or large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Then add 1 tsp of butter.

Next, whisk the eggs in the wok or skillet and cook them while stirring often. Cook until the eggs are set. Then transfer them onto a plate.

Then add another tbsp of butter to the skillet. After that, add onion and cook them until they are translucent which should take approximately 2 minutes. Stir the mixture often to avoid burning.

Now, stir in garlic, then add the frozen vegetables of your choice and cook the mixture until heated through. Then season with a pinch of salt.

After that, soften 2 tbsp of butter in the center of the skillet, then add the cold rice to the skillet and stir the mixture until all the ingredients have been combined.

Next, press down into the pan to brown the rice lightly for a couple of minutes, then stir and repeat this process a few times.

Then, return the egg to the skillet and stir to heat through.

Once you’ve added the rice and it has heated through, remove the skillet or wok from the heat, then stir in 1-2 tbsp of soy sauce.

Finally, garnish the egg fried rice using some sesame seeds and sliced green onions and serve immediately.
