- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp packed light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 3 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- green onions (chopped)
- sesame seeds (for garnish)
Start by heating up the olive oil in a large skillet placed over medium-high heat.
Then cut the chicken into cubes and add it to the skillet. Cook the chicken until it’s no longer pink and has browned.
Meanwhile (while the chicken is cooking), In a medium-sized bowl, combine all of the teriyaki sauce ingredients (soy sauce, rice vinegar, water, sesame oil, honey, brown sugar, garlic, cornstarch, and ginger). Mix until all the teriyaki sauce ingredients have been combined.
Once the chicken is done cooking and has browned, pour the teriyaki sauce on top of the chicken in the skillet.
Cook the sauce until it thickens and starts to boil. Also, make sure to stir the sauce constantly.
While the teriyaki chicken is cooking, steam the rice and your preferred vegetables.
