- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water *mixed with 3 tsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 1/2 tsp fresh ginger (minced)
- 1 tsp garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Start by combining all the ingredients in a small saucepan.
Next, bring the mixture to a boil.
After that, lower the heat and simmer the sauce for approximately about 4 minutes.
Once 4 minutes have passed and the mixture has finished simmering, remove from heat and let cool.
Store the sauce in the fridge for up to a week. This recipe makes about 1 1/4 cups teriyaki sauce.
