The Tastiest BLT Sushi Recipe

As absurd as this combination sounds, I guarantee once you try it, you’ll end up wishing you made more. Much like peanut butter and jelly, the flavors of bacon, lettuce, and tomato seem to work together perfectly. In this delicious sushi take on the classic BLT, we’ve added avocado and removed the bread for a delicious keto and low-carb snack and appetizer idea!

Although this recipe technically, it’s just bacon rolled around some lettuce and tomatoes, but it reminds us of sushi, so we decided to go with it! I bet once you try it you’ll love it, also a really great and fun recipe for the kids!

How To Make The Tastiest BLT Sushi Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 10 slices bacon
  • 1/2 avocado (diced)
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded romaine
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions:

Start by preheating the oven to 400 °F and place a wire rack over a over a large baking sheet.

Next, place 5 bacon slices in a row – side by side. Basically, take one end a bacon slice and place another bacon slice over the pieces that have been lifted. Lay the slices back. Then, lift the adjacent bacon slices and place a bacon piece on the top. Place slices on top.

Repeat the weaving process until you are left with a bacon weave of 5 strips by 5 strips. Now, place the bacon weave on the large baking sheet.

After that, place the large baking sheet in the oven and bake the bacon weave for approximately 20 minutes. Make sure the bacon is still flexible.

Now, place the bacon weave over some paper towels to drain the fat. Then transfer it to a piece of plastic wrap because it helps with the rolling process.

Then, spread mayonnaise on top of bacon weave with a thin layer and top the bottom part of the bacon with avocado and tomatoes.

Next, sprinkle romaine on top and season with some salt. Also, if desired, add some hot sauce.

Finally, starting from the bottom, tightly roll, then slice crosswise into “sushi rolls”.

Note: So your BLT sushi rolls don’t fall apart, use a toothpick to hold them toghether.
