Guide On Making The Tastiest Mexican Street Tacos:
- 12 mini flour tortillas (warmed)
- 1 1/2 pounds skirt steak (cut into 1/2-inch pieces)
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves (chopped)
- 3/4 cup red onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- 2 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp canola oil (divided)
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp ground cumin
Start by combining the chili powder, lime juice, soy sauce, garlic, 1 tbsp canola oil, cumin, and oregano in a medium-sized bowl.
After that, in a large bowl or a Ziploc bag combine the soy sauce mixture you just made and the steak. Marinate the steak in the soy sauce for 1-4 hours. Also, make sure to turn the bag every once in a while.
Next, heat the remaining 1 tbsp of canola oil in a large skillet placed over medium-high heat.
Now, add the steak together with the marinade, and cook. Make sure to stir the mixture often until the steak has browned and the marinade has reduced.
I cook mine for approximately 5-6 minutes, but you can cook yours until you’ve reached your desired doneness.
Finally, serve steak in the warmed mini tortillas and top with cilantro, onion, and lime.
