Let me introduce you to my favorite lazy dinner made in just one pan that is perfect for weeknights when you can’t be bothered to cook and just want to dump things into a single pan and be done. It even takes just under 30 minutes to make.
Crisp on the outside, hot and juicy on the inside. One of the easiest and tastiest ways to cook steak. My family loves these Asian steak bites every time I make them. Paired with the potatoes, they taste heavenly!
Guide On Making The Tastiest Asian Steak Bites & Potatoes:
- 16 oz. potatoes
- 12 oz. beef steak
- 5 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 1 1/2 tbsp butter (divided)
- 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt (divided)
- black pepper
- cooking oil
- chopped parsley (for garnish)
Start by cutting the beef into 1-inch thick cubes and mix with 1/4 tsp of salt and black pepper.
After that, peel the potatoes and also cut them into 3/4-inch thick cubes.
Next, coat a pan with oil and place it over medium heat. Add the potatoes to the pan and cook them until the bottom browns.
Now, add thyme sprigs, 1/4 tsp of salt, and black pepper, stir and cook until potatoes just get tender. It should take approximately 5 to 7 minutes to cook the potatoes. Once the potatoes have finished cooking, transfer them onto a plate.
Then, increase the heat to medium-high and if needed, add more oil. Add the beef cubes and let them sear for about 45 seconds or until they get a color. Once 45 seconds have passed, turn the beef cubes over to the other side and cook them for an additional 30 seconds.
After that, add 1/2 tbsp of butter and minced garlic, start stirring the mixture, and cook until the garlic is fragrant.
Next, add back the potatoes to the pan stir the mixture. Lower the heat to medium and add 1 tbsp of butter and 1 1/2 tbsp of soy sauce.
Stir the mixture so that the sauce coats the steak and potatoes, and cook it until your steak reaches your desired doneness.
If desired, season with additional salt and black pepper and transfer the Asian steak bites and potatoes onto clean serving plates.
Finally, sprinkle with some of the freshly chopped parsley and enjoy!
