How To Make The Tastiest Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta:

  • 6 strips bacon
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 2 small boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp dry ranch dressing seasoning mix
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt
  • pepper

Start by cooking the bacon. The bacon should be cooked on a big pan on low heat (low to medium is the best to cook bacon). Once the bacon has finished cooking place it aside and pour the bacon drips into a small bowl.

Then, clean the skillet so that the bacon residue doesn’t dry and stick to the pan. Once the bacon has cooled, roughly chop it up.

When you’ve finished making the bacon, start by preparing the chicken. So, cut the chicken breasts into thinner slices, each breast should be cut into 2 or 3 slices. The chicken will become plump when cooked.

Next, pad dry the chicken and season each slice with some salt and pepper according to your taste, along with the onion powder, and Italian seasoning.

Now, heat 2 tbsp of the bacon drippings in the skillet at medium-high heat. Olive oil or vegetable oil can be substituted instead of drippings.

After that, the chicken is seared on both sides for 3-4 minutes until a golden-brown crust has formed. Place the chicken aside and let it cool for approximately 5 minutes. Once the chicken has cooled, cut it into cubes to your desired size.

Now, it’s time to prepare the pasta, so in a pot, boil salted water and add the pasta. Cook until al dente following the package directions. While the pasta is boiling make the sauce, and once the pasta finished cooking, drain it.

To make the sauce, melt 1 tbsp of butter inside the same pan over medium heat.  Sauté your garlic for one minute. Then add the flour, and using a silicone spatula mix continuously for an additional minute.

Now, temper the half and half by heating in the microwave for about 40 seconds. Then add it to the skillet in splashes, stirring as you do so. Bring the mixture to a gentle bubble then lower the heat to low.

Next, mix in the ranch seasoning and mix to combine. Gradually add in the cheese. (Note that the sauce is expected to continue thickening after adding the cheese.)

Finally, once you’ve made all the components to this dish, it’s time to assemble it. So, add the noodles to the pot with the sauce. Use a silicone spatula to gently blend it into the sauce. Then, incorporate your chicken and let it get back to a moderate temperature.

If desired, garnish with bacon or stir it into the sauce, and serve!
